Shades of green

I've been experimenting with Photoshop again...

Obviously I have a thing for green; but I've also been mucking around with multiple borders.

A black and white photo colourised and then merged with a border and brushwork.

Same photo - inverted border.

Awwwww - they're so cute, this time merging two different borders together.

Finally, I added another layer and treated that also.

A black and white garden

While playing with the black and white setting on my camera, I shot these photos in our front garden.

I don't what it is about b&w, but sometimes things just looker richer, more textured...

Some more ivy

A brick wall

A small stone scultpure in our garden

An old bird house

Random walks

Sometimes I just like to go for a walk (and take the camera), this is what I found last weekend...

While nearly all the other blossoms are fading, this tree was still smothered in white..

I don't know why, but ivy and wrought iron just looks amazing together...and then you add red brick...

I couldn't resist this magnolia; while the rest of the tree was out of reach (of both me and my camera), this one single bloom hung over the fence just itching to be photographed...

Easter

Each week The Guardian newspaper has a competition in its Saturday magazine called In Pictures - the challenge is to come up with a photo that epitomises the theme they choose. This week's theme was 'Easter' and here are my submissions...

There's just something about a bowl of multi-coloured eggs that says easter! The only difference is that in Oz they were filled with caramel....mmmmmmm.

Hot cross buns - one would think that Easter just meant food to me.... well you'd be right.

I doubt my photos will win, because the quality is usually very high; but I like the idea of having a regular theme to challenge me and I hope to continue this.

The rest of the pics are just some of the other images I considered sending in for the competition.

Canary Wharf

Had a wander around Canary Wharf the other day - gotta love the weather we're having lately...

Is it a tree.....?

Just a short walk from Canary Wharf in London there is a wondrous tree - is it a traffic light or is it a tree? I'll let you decide.

I had fun anyway!

The first view

A little fun with photoshop

It really is quite fascinating

My gorgeous new camera has it's own black and white function...mmmm

I just had to look up - it was such a beautiful day!

A study of fluff

Yeah - every girl has some stuffed toys around, even me...

A blessing of unicorns..

Orinico flow

Yellow tulips

I recently bought the loveliest bouquet of yellow tulips. I couldn't resist a quick photo study...

Shadows

We have a gorgeous Victorian window in our kitchen - when it's sunny it casts the most gorgeous shadows. Add a couple of still lifes and you get....

Alessi bunny

Unicorn

A study in snow

Back in February it snowed in London - for an Aussie, it was amazing and gorgeous. I took these in a local park...

Grass also peeking out

Spring

Spring is unfurling her beauty across this fair isle of Britain - even in suburban London.

Went for a walk today and the daffodils were out...

...as were the blossoms...

...and the crocuses...

... while the bumblebees were bumbling.

Pink water lily

While visiting the Queensland hinterland, I came across a gorgeous pond covered in lily pads and lilies. I had some fun with photoshop.....
